Rose water (optional)
Frozen and defrosted pitted sour cherries or fresh pomegranate seeds
Pomegranate or sour cherry syrup/molasses, for drizzling on top (optional)
Ground pistachios or sliced almonds (optional)

Small saucepan and mixing spoon
Large baking pan (about 9 x 13-inch)
Electric handheld mixer
